““Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities”

Coming from a rural background in the Hunter Valley where I grew up amongst sheep, cattle, dogs, horses, tractors, a couple of brothers and a couple of sisters, my memories through the rose coloured rear-vision mirror of life are of the simplicity and solitude of a rustic rural existence during the long, hot summers of the 50’s and 60s.

Though it was the magic of radio and the music of the 60’s rather than a rural life that permeated and coursed through my veins.

Jim Ball

Out of school in 1967 and into radio at 2NM in Muswellbrook, then over time working radio in places as far afield as Mt Isa, Longreach, Bundaberg, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney,?Melbourne and again Sydney.

Throughout my radio career, I have?worked in all aspects of radio. On air, management, promotions and marketing.

In December 1989, I left the radio industry to manage my wife’s large medical practice in Sydney and become a stay at home dad with everything that involves.

School drop offs and afternoon pickups as well as the usual swimming, tennis and piano lessons.

In 1999 it was time to saddle up again and?I decided to combine my lifelong passion for current affairs, news, views, writing and talking with my previous radio background into a?talk radio package?working on 2GB and 2UE over the 10 years from 1999 to the beginning of 2011.

Life’s good.

These days?I find myself sorta/kinda, retired but once again managing my wife’s large aged care medical practice.

Married with 2 (now) adult kids and a couple of dogs,?I’m living?the life, on Sydney’s magnificent Northern Beaches.
